主讲嘉宾:

Prof. Julio R. Meneghini is a Full Professor at the Escola Politécnica, University of São Paulo (EPUSP), a Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), and a member of the Academy of Sciences of São Paulo State (ACIESP). He has been the Scientific Director of the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI) since 2015. He has led numerous research projects sponsored by Shell, Petrobras, Toyota, and FAPESP, among others. He is the author or co-author of over 250 scientific papers and serves as a regular reviewer for leading journals in fluid mechanics.

This seminar explores cutting-edge computational approaches to improving the performance, efficiency, and durability of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Traditional flow field designs often rely on heuristic modifications, leading to poor flow distribution, non-uniform current densities, hot spots, and material degradation. This talk delves into Topology Optimization (TO)—a rigorous mathematical method that systematically generates optimal material distributions and channel layouts without prior geometric assumptions, offering new pathways for next-generation fuel cell technology.
