Giorgio Parisi, an Italian, won the Nobel Prize in Physics, the Wolf Prize in Physics, and the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2021. He is a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, a foreign member of the French Academy of Sciences, a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, and a member of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World. His main research fields are quantum field theory, statistical mechanics, and complex systems. His most important work is the exact solution of the mean-field spin glass model (SK model). Other important works include the QCD evolution equation of parton density (also known as the Altarelli-Parisi equation or DGLAP equation), the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation describing the dynamic scaling of interface growth, and the vortex in bird flocks, etc.
