Prof. Dunpin HONG, Professor at the University of Orleans, France. Chair of the electrical engineering discipline in the University of Orleans. His research activities include a) Electrical and optical investigation of transient plasma; b) High voltage electrical discharge; c) Non Thermal plasmas applications (subsonic airflow control, water treatment, etc.). He is member of the executive management committee of the GD conference series; member of the Scientific Committee of the French CAE Conference from 2005 to 2019; member of the international Scientific Committee for GD2014, GD2016, GD2018 and GD2023. As co-author, he has published 85 journal papers.

Dr. Cathy Rond, associate professor at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées Institut Clément Ader, Toulouse since September 2023. She was R&D engineer at Safran in the electrical department. She was associate professor in Université Sorbonne Paris Nord during 2009 - 2022. She was R&D engineer in the oil company Géoservices - Technical and Analysis Department, Roissy-en-France during 2008-2009 and assistant professor in CORIA CRS, Université de Rouen during 2006-2008. She has lectures, tutorial classes, practical works in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics in the engineering school Sup Galilée (UP13) and INSA-Toulouse.

内容摘要:

This talk will present two physical phenomena "light and electricity", which are well known to the public. We present also their multiple relationships that are a little less known. The basic notions of electric charges, the spontaneous emission of a photon, as well as the duality of light and light spectrum will be discussed. The production of electricity by light and, conversely, the production of light by electricity will be presented. We will emphasize the second part by presenting the different light sources, including lasers.

Energy is a fundamental ingredient in human life. There is no industrial, agricultural, health, domestic, or any other sort of processes that doesn't require a degree of external energy. As example, human beings ingest around 2,500 kilocalories of energy per day as food. Moreover, in industrialized countries, the average daily amount of supplementary energy consumed in combined human activities (industrial, domestic, transportation, and others) is equivalent to 125,000 kilocalories per person. Energy is everywhere and energy has many forms. Primary energy sources take many forms, including nuclear energy, fossil energy (like oil, coal and natural gas) and renewable sources (like wind, solar, geothermal and hydropower). These primary sources are converted to electricity, a secondary energy source, which flows through power lines and other transmission infrastructure to your home and business. The development of new products and technologies requires an understanding of energy sources and electricity production processes. Moreover, new challenges as natural resource scarcity, fossil fuel energy consumption, and total greenhouse gas emissions confirm scientists' interest in taking the energy domain into account. This talk aims to introduce basic energy concept, the different primary energy resources and the main technologies of electric production.
